The practice of intelligence
Praxa
Knowledge, enacted.
We build AI grounded in the practice of real experts — not scraped from the web, but shaped by the people who do the work.
Learn the thesisWhere knowledge
meets action.
Praxa comes from the Greek praxis — knowledge lived out in action. It is the word Aristotle used to distinguish what experts do from what theorists merely know.
That distinction is the whole of our thesis. Most AI today is built on what has been written about a field. We build AI on what is known by the people who practice it.
The lab exists to close the gap between machine intelligence and mastered expertise — one domain, one expert, one product at a time.
The method.
A disciplined process for encoding mastery into working intelligence.
Find the master
We begin with the practitioner, not the problem statement. Domain knowledge is identified at the source — in the hands and minds of those who have spent careers refining it.
What this looks like
We identify recognised practitioners in a specific domain — surgeons, structural engineers, senior litigators — whose judgment is trusted by peers, not just credentialed on paper.
The practitioner becomes a collaborator, not a data source. Their time is respected. Their methods are studied. Their edge cases are documented.
Encode the practice
We work closely with each expert to capture not just what they know, but how they reason, decide, and act under the specific pressures of their domain.
What this looks like
Structured sessions, case reviews, and protocol analysis distil tacit knowledge into explicit reasoning chains — the kind of thinking that never makes it into textbooks.
We focus on the decisions that distinguish a master from a competent practitioner. The edge cases. The weighted judgments. The knowing when not to act.
Make it operational
The result is a purpose-built intelligence grounded in real expertise — precise, auditable, and shaped by the people who do the work.
What this looks like
Each product is narrow by design. It solves one problem, in one domain, better than anything built from generalised data. That specificity is the feature.
Organisations deploy it with confidence because they can trace every output back to documented expert reasoning — not statistical approximation.
The distinction
Conventional AI
- Built on what has been written
- Generalised across all domains
- Extrapolated from text
- Knowledge at arm's length
- Theory approximating practice
Praxa
- Built on what is known by practitioners
- Mastered within a single domain
- Shaped by the people who do the work
- Expertise at the source
- Practice enacted as intelligence
Every application should reinforce our position as the thinking person's AI company — where knowledge meets action, and expertise becomes operational.
